The Mount Tom 2 Meter Repeater
The Mount Tom 146.940 repeater has a negative offset and a PL of 127.3.
It is accessible along the Connecticut River from above Brattleboro VT south to Wallingford CT, and from Lee, MA to Charlton, MA along the Massachusetts Turnpike. Coverage is of course dependent upon conditions, and the user's equipment (ERP). Often, it can be accessed much more widely using a directional gain antenna (-83 to -86 dBm areas on the map below).
This map is generated using Radio Mobile. This freeware program predicts a station's coverage area, taking into account the parameters of the repeater (location, power output, system gain, type of antenna, antenna height, antenna gain, and frequency of operation. The colors indicate the received signal strength expected based on the terrain around the repeater coverage area. Areas that are solidly filled in can be considered areas of solid coverage, and areas that are mottled are expected to have spotty (location dependent) coverage. Areas shown in light green are expected to have coverage only with a directional antenna.
